As part of Qatar Central Bank's efforts to develop monetary policy in the State of Qatar and increase its efficiency and to contribute in strengthening the banking and financial system and to activate the tools of the open market as one of the tools of monetary policy and to implement the mechanism of coordination between the financial and monetary policies,
Qatar Central Bank (QCB) issued on Tuesday April 3, 2018 treasury bills for three, six and nine months, with a value of QR1 billion, distributed as follows:
- 550 million QR for three months at an interest rate of 2.65%
- 300 million QR for six months at an interest rate of 2.80%
- 150 million QR for nine months at an interest rate of 3.00%
The issuance is part of a series of issues executed by Qatar Central Bank on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the schedule prepared by both Qatar Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance.
Treasury bills are issued through auction for banks operating in Qatar.
