Banking Operations and Accounts Management            
It specializes in managing the accounts of local banks, Gulf central banks, and financial institutions, in addition to the current accounts of the Ministry of Finance and international bodies and organizations. The department also provides credit facilities to banks and manages and calculates the monthly mandatory reserve.​
         
            
             
Financial Markets Instruments                              
Qatar Central Bank(QCB), on behalf of the government of the State of Qatar (SoQ), is responsible for issuing and managing financial market instruments through coordination between the Ministry of Finance (MoI) and Qatar Central Bank regarding the annual plan for issuing bonds, instruments and  QCB BILLS​ at the beginning of each fiscal year, the size of government loans and the level of liquidity of the operating banks in the State of Qatar are assessed on the basis of which an appropriate plan for securities issuances is developed. Currency Management Department​

The Currency Management department is responsible for overseeing and managing the production, distribution, and circulation of currency in accordance with the monetary policy of Qatar and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The department is also responsible for implementing measures to process and accounting for damaged or withdrawn cash and reduce counterfeiting and coordinating with government agencies on the import and export of cash for financial institutions.            
            
             
Payment Systems Department            ​             
Payment and settlement systems are considered as the core component of the infrastructure of financial markets due to the critical role they play in easy transferring of funds among members of the financial systems including financial institutions and banks, according to highest level of safety and reliability. The interoperability of these systems has become an urgent necessity for economic growth and stability of the financial system. Based on Qatar Central Bank’s belief in the importance of payment and settlement systems, the bank has established a special department within the financial instruments and payment systems sector concerned with the operation and supervision of payment systems and services under the name (Payment Systems Department), where this department consists of a group of sections, that is:
- High Value Payment Systems Section (Bulk Payments)
- Retail Payment Systems Section (Clearing Systems)
- Guidelines and Analytical Studies Section
