Fin​ancial Stability And Risk Control Committee

At its first meeting held in 2013, the Board of Directors of Qatar Central Bank issued a decision to form the Committee for Financial Stability and Risk Control in accordance with the provisions of Article (115) of the Qatar Central Bank Law and the Regulation of Financial Institutions promulgated by Law No. (13) of 2012.
In accordance with the Qatar Central Bank Board of Directors Decision No. (7) of 2022, the Committee for Financial Stability and Risk Control was restructured as follows:
· ​     Governor - Chairperson 
·      Deputy Governor - Vice Chairperson 
·      Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority - Member 
·      Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority - Member 
·      Assistant Governor for Financial Stability - Member 
·      Assistant Governor for Supervision - Member 
·      Assistant Governor for Financial Instruments & Payment Systems - Member 
·      Director of Enterprise Risk Management Department - Member 
·      Expert selected by the Governor - Member 
·      Committee Secretary - Member 
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The committee shall carry out the tasks and responsibilities outlined in Article (116) of the Qatar Central Bank Law and the Regulation of Financial Institutions promulgated by Law No. (13) of 2012. They include the following:
-       Studying real or potential risks to all services, business activities, financial markets and the development of solutions and proposals in this regard.
-       Coordinating between the regulatory and supervisory authorities in the State, and seeking to promote cooperation and exchange information among them, including helping to create a homogeneous and cooperative regulatory and supervisory environment.​
-       Proposing policies concerning regulation, control and supervision, including licensing, combating money laundering and other policies related to financial services, business activities and markets.
 
Committee Meetings:
The committee shall convene once every three months or as needed, at the discretion of the committee chairperson.​
